Sewaholic Alma Blouse and Megan Nielsen Kelly skirt

What a great week for independent designers.  I’m personally really excited to see some Alma and Kelly outfits, they could look smashing together!

The Alma blouse is going to be up for so much styling and interpretation with fabric choices, but if you want to get excited here’s a roundup of some of the pattern testers!

Lladybird did a more fitted style, and added some rick rack and a pocket for detail.

Marie made a tiny mistake on the collar, and ended up with a really cute variation in my opinion!

Mika used a lovely print, and it would look perfect in the office.

And don’t forget to visit Karen and see her completely different fabric choice.

Anyone want to make up some Kelly skirts for us to get inspired by as well?

    • You know I wasn’t sure about the Alma for me personally until I saw the Lladybird one. Loved the pattern but I never wear tops with that much ease. Totally going to make one (who am I kidding – I’ve just cut out renfrew number 5, I’ll probably make 5 Almas too). Are you going to make another Thurlow soon?

      • I love the long sleeve Alma and I think with the belt the ease is quite lovely. It definitely needs something with a lovely drape, otherwise it would turn into a mini tent on me. I’ve got my Renfrew t-shirt on today, wore the cowl neck yesterday. Just need some fabric for my second Thurlows. I’m going to make a long pair. Would look lovely with an Alma blouse.
Also wearing my Vogue 1247 skirt again today. World’s greatest skirt pattern EVER.

  1. I was a pattern tester for the Kelly skirt, so you can check out my versions if you want! I posted about two of the three I’ve made. It’s a great skirt that really is quick to put together.
